Hello Parent or Guardian of a middle or high schooler.  Thank you for your interest in our paid research discussion to help improve questions on a youth survey about tobacco or nicotine use, including vaping.  These questions are used in the California Youth Tobacco Survey, which is given to middle and high school students in California. The purpose of the study is to get feedback on how easy or difficult some survey questions are to answer.

Youth do not need to vape or use nicotine products to participate in the interviews.  Today, we are seeking consent from parents/guardians to permit their child to share their views and help us design the survey questions that will be administered to a larger audience.

The study is conducted by RTI International and is funded by the California Tobacco Prevention Program (CTPP). The interview will take about an hour and be conducted via Zoom between July 21st and August 1st. If your child qualifies and takes part in the interview, they will receive $50 in their choice of an Amazon gift card or check.
